Irma Malatsidze
Born in 1968. Graduated Shota Rustaveli Theatre and film Georgia state University at 2002. Has worked as a journalist at Georigian TV, newspapers “Alia”, “Resonance”, “Georgian times”, several information agencies and newspapers.
Irma Malatsidze was the winner as a debutant kinder writer of a competition ”New names in Georgian children literature” organized by journal “Dila” in 2003. Since her first prize for the story “Snail named Keramucha’’ is systematically printed in a different literature editions.
Irma Malatsidze is the founder and leader of the Children’s Literature Development Fundation. She was an initiator of creating national children’s book day (27th October) in Georgia. In 2010 the found was listed in Astrid Lindgren’s award nominees.
Irma Malatsidze is the aouthoress of several publications, like: “The Sweet land”, “Keramucha’s school”, “Mischevious Luki in Time land”, ”Beauty land”, “Squirrel’s mini-market”,”I want to be”, “Collection of children plays”, “Funny alphabet with riddles”, “Handmade stories” and “Doctor Woodpecker”.
Recently she was awarded the premium of Iakob Gogebashvili - most important award for authors of children literature in Georgia.
